The Office of the Federal Public Defender for the Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana has announced that Marci Landry Blaize has been named as the supervisory Assistant Federal Public Defender in charge of the FPD Office serving the Middle District of Louisiana in Baton Rouge. Mrs. Blaize, a 1997 graduate of LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center, has worked over 23 years in private practice as a criminal defense lawyer in the state and federal courts. Since 2011, she has served as the Middle District’s Criminal Justice Act panel attorney representative to the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts. In 2017, she received the Louisiana Association of Criminal Defense Lawyer’s Criminal Justice Act Panel Attorney Award. Marci’s appointment was effective October 11, 2021, following the retirement of Mark Upton.
